Emergency Windows 10 update finally puts an end to printer problems (we hope)

Microsoft has rushed out a different out-of-band patch to fix issues which have hit the printers of some Home windows 10 customers, following a recent debacle that you may have been following.

This difficulties begun when the Home windows 10 cumulative updates for March induced Blue Monitor of Death crashes with some printers, and evidently the fix for those people difficulties – and the authentic updates by themselves – triggered further more misery for other printer customers who expert various issues. The latter gremlins primarily revolved all around bits of printed files going missing (sections of pages, or full pages becoming blank for that issue).

At any level, cumulative update KB5001649 (for the Might 2020 Update and Oct 2020 Update) is the hottest crisis patch Microsoft has just deployed to treatment all these aforementioned bugbears (devoid of any other unintended hurt cropping up elsewhere, with any luck).

There are also other very similar patches focusing on older versions of Home windows 10, as Home windows Latest, which spotted this, observes (KB5001648 is for equipment functioning the feature updates from 2019).

Get if you will need

As with the earlier out-of-band patching, these are optional updates, and should only be installed if you are suffering from 1 of the described printer difficulties. Normally you really do not will need them, clearly enough.

To get the patch, only head to Home windows Update and manually look at for updates, and you should see the applicable 1 for your Personal computer. If not, the patches are also out there in the Microsoft Update Catalog (see right here for KB5001649).

We can continue to keep our fingers firmly crossed that this is the final instalment in this unique patching episode, but who appreciates, the way factors have been going as a result considerably.
